The MV Roberts Bank Lifeboat and crews have been quite busy in the last weeks of May. The vessel was tasked to aid in maintenance of the Storm Surge Forecast Model Electronic Water Level Sensor by the Corporation of Delta. Work was performed by the Corporation and the sensor is fully operational. In Memoriam: It is with considerable regret that the Roberts Bank Lifeboat Delta Station Society recognizes the passing of member George Hawksworth.
The on going pilot project with Delta Police is mentioned in their 2009 annual report.
As a result of a pilot project, the society voted to explore the possibility of offering the present vessel for sale on the international market. The proceeds from any potential sale will then be reinvested in vessels that are directly suited to our river harbour and our Georgia Strait station bases.

Lennart Osterlind, a director with the South Delta Artists Guild, is paying tribute to the Roberts Bank Lifeboat marine search and rescue group with a large oil painting in the guild's upcoming Heroes exhibition.
On May 23 and 24 2009 the Roberts Bank Lifeboat Society was asked to take part in the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the opening of the George Massey Tunnel. From that time in 1959 to date the tunnel has been a vital link from Vancouver and Richmond to get south of the Fraser River to Delta, South Surrey and the USA border.
