The Delta Marine Unit practices man overboard (MOB) training with a floater suit packed with carpet. This easily replicates the weight of a person in the water.

The vessel is brought to the beach and the ladder is made ready for deployment.

Beaching practise

The vessel may at times have to offload or pickup personnel from an area where a dock doesn't exist. It is important that the crew train in these procedures.

New members set up the fire pump and hose and practised controlling the water flow.

Along side towing exercise

Paul F explains the procedures to set up lines for an along side tow. The dock will be used to simulate a vessel.

Lines are prepared

As the vessel approaches the dock, crew take up their positions at bow and stern for line handling.

Docking and line handling

Crews train in August for docking practise, both at the helm for senior crew and line handling / docking procedures for new members.

Continue the hoisting

Bringing the person up to deck level

Lifting the person out of the water to roll them safely and carefully onto the deck
