The Roberts Bank Lifeboat Station - Delta Society is an active and recognized all volunteer, non-profit, provincially registered charitable marine Search and Rescue organization operating from the Roberts Bank Superport and Ladner Harbour. The society is responsible for all fundraising. Tax Registration #87301 4815 RR001.
The operational side of the society, known as the Delta Marine Unit, provides life-saving and other marine services that are required in these highly traveled waters with Vancouver Island ferries, deep sea ships, tugs, pleasure craft, fishing boats and hundreds of small aeroplanes, helicopters and commercial aircraft flying over the strait on a daily basis. Our crew of trained volunteers work hard to provide the community of Delta with the best possible boating safety and marine emergency service.

Our volunteers donate countless hours of their time to train and actively participate as a significant part of the front-line response to marine distress in Canada. They must also volunteer even more of their time to actively raise the funds necessary to keep us afloat - and that's no small order. As we are not funded, the marine rescue society relies on donations to help run the vessel. This includes: operational costs, equipment, fuel, training, medical equipment, vessel maintenance, insurance, licensing, ship's phone, pagers and many other items necessary to keep the vessel ready and able to operate on short notice as a dedicated response vessel.
We realize these are challenging financial times, but rest assured your donation does make a difference to marine rescue. Help us help you...our objectives still remain the same:
- Save lives
- The safety of those on and around the water
- The security of our local community
- To increase awareness of boating safety in the local community
- Provide support to local police and fire agencies, Canadian Coast Guard, and US Coast Guard (if requested)
- Maintain professional standards
- To provide a multi mission capable vessel or vessels with the most up to date equipment possible and well trained crews
If you have any questions or wish to make a donation, please contact the society via the "Contact Us" link under the "About RBLB" tab, or direct via the email address below. Donations may also be made by clicking on the "Donate Now" button on the home page.
